Mobile filmmaking school

FILMOBILE has conducted and conceptualised numerous mobile phone filmmaking workshops in the last three years working with local youth organisations in London such as Tower Hamlets Summer University, Sutton Youth Service, the East End festival and Southwark Playhouse.

In these workshops mobile filmmakers teach the basics in filmmaking and let the young-stars use mobile devices to capture their lives in their local communities. In October 2009 a pilot project was launched as a collaboration between a group of students at the Limkokwing University in London and the Temple University in Tokyo. Mastering to overcome time zones and continents a collaborative mobile filmmaking project was produced. Internationally FILMOBILE has lead workshops at the Mobilefest in Brazil and the Heartbeat Festival in Russia.

In 2009 a group of students from the Limkokwing University were the runner up nomination for the MSC APICTA Awards in Malaysia. FILMOBILE aims at providing further possibilities and access to filmmaking for the next generation through educational initiatives.
